Anglo American, supported by Impact Capital Africa, brings you the 2021 Sustainable Investment Initiative

Anglo American has engaged Impact Capital Africa and 10X-E to support them in the design and delivery of their exciting Sustainable Investment Initiative.

This Initiative was created to:

  • Provide investors with a pipeline of investment ready opportunities that they may not have had access to otherwise
  • Help businesses seeking finance overcome the final hurdles in preparing for investment and finding appropriate investors

How will the Initiative work?

Anglo American strives to be a partner in socio-economic development in the regions in which they work. They believe one way to do this is by playing a catalytic role in unlocking barriers commonly faced by investors and businesses in getting deals done.

The Sustainable Investment Initiative aims to do this by advancing projects as rapidly as possible; minimising investment risk and maximising the progression of eligible businesses towards investment.

The Initiative will run until December 2021, with the focal activities being:

  • Creation and support of a pipeline of innovative, impactful businesses in the Northern Cape, Northwest, and Limpopo provinces of South Africa
  • Helping eligible businesses achieve investment readiness through appropriate technical assistance (TA)
  • Providing opportunities for impact investors and businesses to connect.

For SA businesses seeking finance

Are you:

  • An existing South African business poised for growth?
  • Active in, or planning rollout to, one or more of the Northwest, Northern Cape, or Limpopo provinces?
  • Looking for affordable, appropriate long-term finance of US$250,000 to US$25 million?
  • Able to deliver measurable social and/or environmental impact as well as financial returns?
